The School
To ensure the sustainability and growth of our Ashram, we established Santiniketan Sishutirtha School in 2019. This fee-paid school not only provides modern and inquiry-based education for 21st-century skills, but also reallocates surplus funds to support and nurture the children in our care, ensuring that our mission continues to thrive beyond the uncertainty of sporadic donations.

- Tagore’s Ideas & Modern Pedagogy: Inspired by Rabindranath Tagore, we blend nature-based learning with modern, inquiry-based, and experiential education. Teachers act as collaborators, not just dispensers of information.
- Co-education: Our inclusive environment promotes learning and growth without gender bias, fostering equality and mutual respect through mixed group activities.
- Empowering Students: We encourage responsibility and life skills through a fear-free environment and our Ashram Sammilani (Students’ Council).
- Exam Focus: We emphasize teamwork, collaboration, and negotiation skills over rankings, teaching “Examination Skills” early to reduce anxiety and ensure high achievement.

- Music: Learning Rabindra Sangeet and global music to connect with nature and inner self.
- Empathy: Regular interactions with Sishutirtha Ashram children to cultivate empathy.
- Physical Education: Regular games, outdoor camps, and physical activities for balanced development.

Our campus blends seamlessly with Santiniketan’s natural landscape, featuring reds, browns, and flowering trees inspired by Tagore’s literature. This design promotes aesthetics and connects children to nature, creating a conducive environment for learning and growth.
Moreover, to address the pressing issue of climate change, we use this natural space to nurture young minds on the intricate relationship between nature and climate, fostering a generation that loves and protects our planet.

Admission Criteria
- Lower KG to Grade 5: We require interactions with both parents and children.
- Grades 6 and Above: Simple 30-minute tests in English and Mathematics, followed by parent-student interactions.
- Lower KG: 4 years old by April 1
- Upper KG: 5 years old by April 1
- Grade 1: 6 years old by April 1

Ashram-School Connect
We foster connections between Ashram and School children through various activities. Ashram children guide their peers during Nature Walks, helping them discover the campus’s natural beauty. They also collaborate on major annual programs. Talented Ashram children receive free admission to the School, with reserved seats. Skilled in sewing, they contribute to the School’s uniform needs, providing a steady income source. The School also offers employment opportunities, ensuring a smooth transition for Ashram children into adulthood. As friendships form, the strong School alumni network can help secure employment for Ashram graduates.
